What you need

• Einen Mac mit Apple Silicon — also M1, M2, M3, M4 oder neuer. Nachsehen: Apfel-Menü oben links → „Über diesen Mac“. Steht dort „Intel“, läuft Framoon nicht.
• A Mac with Apple Silicon — M1, M2, M3, M4 or newer. To check: Apple menu, top left → "About This Mac". If it says "Intel", Framoon won't run.
• macOS 14 oder neuer. Steht im selben Fenster.

• Ein Claude-Code-Abo. Framoon bringt keine eigene KI mit — es benutzt deinen Zugang. Dadurch kostet dich kein Video extra.
• A Claude Code subscription. Framoon brings no AI of its own — it uses your access. That's why no video costs you extra.
• Mehrere Gigabyte freien Speicher. Die Sprach- und Bildmodelle stecken nicht in der App, sie kommen beim ersten Einrichten frisch.
• A few gigabytes of free space. The speech and vision models don't ship inside the app; they're fetched during first setup.

Step by step

1. Das Terminal öffnen

   Open Terminal

   Drück ⌘ + Leertaste, tipp Terminal, drück Enter. Es öffnet sich ein schmuckloses Fenster mit einem blinkenden Cursor — das ist richtig so. Hier fügst du gleich ein paar Zeilen ein und drückst jeweils Enter.

   Press ⌘ + Space, type Terminal, hit Enter. A plain window with a blinking cursor opens — that's correct. You'll paste a few lines here, hitting Enter after each.

2. Homebrew — der Installierer für den Rest

   Homebrew — the installer for everything else

   Homebrew ist ein kleines Programm, mit dem man auf dem Mac andere Programme installiert. Hast du es schon, überspring diesen Schritt. Sonst:

   Homebrew is a small program used to install other programs on a Mac. Already have it? Skip this. Otherwise:

   Es fragt nach deinem Mac-Passwort. Beim Tippen bewegt sich nichts auf dem Bildschirm — das ist normal, tipp einfach zu Ende und drück Enter.

   It asks for your Mac password. Nothing moves on screen while you type — that's normal; just type it and hit Enter.

3. Die drei Bausteine installieren

   Install the three building blocks

   Diese drei kann Framoon nicht mitliefern. Ohne sie bricht die Einrichtung ab. Nacheinander einfügen, jeweils Enter, jeweils fertig werden lassen:

   Warum Python 3.12: Framoon braucht mindestens diese Version. Das Python, das auf jedem Mac schon liegt, ist 3.9 und reicht nicht. Framoon sagt es dir deutlich, falls es das falsche findet.

   Why Python 3.12: Framoon needs at least this version. The Python that ships with every Mac is 3.9 and won't do. Framoon tells you clearly if it finds the wrong one.

4. Claude Code installieren und anmelden

   Install Claude Code and sign in

   Das ist der Teil, der für Framoon denkt. Installier ihn von claude.com/claude-code, starte danach im Terminal einmal:

   This is the part that does the thinking for Framoon. Install it from claude.com/claude-code, then run once in Terminal:

   und meld dich an. Das war's — du wirst Claude Code nie wieder selbst öffnen müssen. Framoon startet es ab jetzt im Hintergrund selbst.

   and sign in. That's it — you'll never have to open Claude Code yourself again. From now on Framoon starts it in the background for you.

5. Framoon laden und an den richtigen Ort legen

   Download Framoon and put it in the right place

   Die ZIP von der Download-Seite holen und doppelklicken — macOS entpackt sie. Zieh die entstandene Framoon.app in deinen Programme-Ordner.

   Get the ZIP from the download page and double-click it — macOS unpacks it. Drag the resulting Framoon.app into your Applications folder.

   Nicht in iCloud oder Google Drive legen. Schreibtisch und Dokumente sind das oft, ohne dass man es merkt. macOS hängt in solchen Ordnern ein unsichtbares Attribut an das Programm — und davon bricht die Signatur. Framoon startet dann gar nicht mehr. Programme ist der richtige Ort.

   Don't put it in iCloud or Google Drive. Desktop and Documents often are, without you noticing. In such folders macOS attaches an invisible attribute to the app — and that breaks the signature. Framoon then won't start at all. Applications is the right place.

6. Erster Start — macOS blockiert, und das ist erwartet

   First launch — macOS blocks it, and that's expected

   Framoon ist signiert, aber noch nicht bei Apple notariert. Das ist ein bezahlter Vorgang, der aussteht — kein Zeichen für ein Problem mit der App. Zwei Wege, beide einmalig:

   Framoon is signed but not yet notarised with Apple. That's a paid process still pending — not a sign of a problem with the app. Two routes, both one-time:

   • Rechtsklick auf die App → „Öffnen“ → im Dialog nochmal „Öffnen“.
   • Right-click the app → "Open" → in the dialog, "Open" again.
   • Falls das nicht angeboten wird (neuere macOS-Versionen): App normal doppelklicken, Meldung wegklicken, dann Systemeinstellungen → Datenschutz & Sicherheit — dort steht unten „Framoon wurde blockiert“ → „Dennoch öffnen“.
   • If that isn't offered (newer macOS): double-click normally, dismiss the message, then System Settings → Privacy & Security — at the bottom it says "Framoon was blocked" → "Open Anyway".

   Danach startet sie normal, für immer.

   After that it launches normally, forever.

7. Die Einrichtung in der App

   Setup inside the app

   Framoon führt dich durch drei Schritte:

   Framoon walks you through three steps:

   • Mac einschätzen — es schlägt dir ein Profil vor, also wie viel auf deinem Rechner gerechnet wird.
   • Assess your Mac — it suggests a profile: how much gets computed on your machine.
   • Einrichten — lädt die Sprach- und Bildmodelle. Das dauert und braucht mehrere Gigabyte. Nichts davon steckt in der App, es kommt beim ersten Mal frisch. Guter Zeitpunkt für einen Kaffee.
   • Set up — downloads the speech and vision models. This takes a while and several gigabytes. None of it ships inside the app; it arrives fresh the first time. Good moment for a coffee.
   • Prüfen — sagt dir ehrlich, was funktioniert und was nicht. Bemängelt sie etwas, steht der Fix direkt daneben. Du kannst die Prüfung beliebig oft wiederholen.
   • Check — tells you honestly what works and what doesn't. If something is flagged, the fix is right next to it. Repeat the check as often as you like.

8. Erstes Projekt

   Your first project

   Projekt anlegen, deine Clips hineinziehen, das Briefing ausfüllen — Thema, Ziel, ungefähre Länge — und Start drücken. Den Rest macht Framoon. Am Ergebnis kannst du direkt Rückmeldung geben; dann wird noch einmal geschnitten.

   Create a project, drag your clips in, fill in the brief — topic, goal, rough length — and hit start. Framoon does the rest. You can give feedback right on the result; it'll then re-cut.

Optional: die drei Schlüssel

Optional: the three keys

Framoon läuft ohne jeden davon. Jeder schaltet genau eine Zusatzfunktion frei, alle drei sind kostenlos. Sie kommen in die Datei ~/.framoon/.env.

Framoon runs without any of them. Each unlocks exactly one extra capability, all three are free. They go into ~/.framoon/.env.

• GEMINI_API_KEY — schärfere Bildanalyse in der Cloud. Standardmäßig aus. Schaltest du sie ein, gehen einzelne Standbilder an Google — Framoon sagt das ausdrücklich, bevor es passiert. Ohne den Schlüssel übernimmt das lokale Modell.
• GEMINI_API_KEY — sharper cloud image analysis. Off by default. Switch it on and single still frames go to Google — Framoon says so explicitly beforehand. Without the key the local model handles it.
• HF_TOKEN — Sprechertrennung, wenn mehrere Personen zu hören sind. Ohne ihn: Einzelperson-Betrieb.
• HF_TOKEN — speaker separation when several people are audible. Without it: single-speaker operation.
• PIXABAY_API_KEY — B-Roll und Stockmaterial. Ohne ihn: kein automatisches Zusatzmaterial.
• PIXABAY_API_KEY — B-roll and stock footage. Without it: no automatic extra material.

Framoon bringt zwölf Musikstücke mit, alle von Kevin MacLeod unter CC BY 4.0. Kommerzielle Nutzung ist erlaubt — Namensnennung ist verpflichtend, in jeder Videobeschreibung, in der ein Track hörbar ist. Framoon erzeugt die nötige Zeile automatisch mit, zum Beispiel:
